Facebook Launches Reactions-You Can Now Do More Than Just ‘Like’ Your Friends’ Posts

Facebook has launched Reactions, an extension to its ubiquitous Like button, that gives you more ways to share your reaction to a post quickly and easily.

You can now react to posts with a Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, or Angry emoticon.

In a statement, the social network describes this move as a way for people to easily and quickly express how they feel in reaction to a post.

To add a reaction, you need to hold down the like button on mobile or hover over the like button on desktop to see the image options.

The launch comes after more than a year of international research, including focus groups and surveys to determine what types of reactions people would want to use most. The research looked at how people were already commenting on posts, as well as the most used stickers and emoticons as an indication of the types of reactions people were already using.

Facebook tested Reactions in Ireland, Japan and Spain last year, and the feedback has been positive so far. Today’s launch makes it available to everyone who uses Facebook around the world.
