The UN ambassador met with Pope
Francis during a private audience at the Vatican today. She was invited to the
Vatican by the head of the Catholic church, and was asked to screen her movie
'Unbroken' for the Political Academy of Sciences. She released a statement
concerning the visit which reads;
"Being invited with my film to
the Vatican is an honor and a great tribute to the story that I have told in
Unbroken. The story of the hero Louis a great example of strength and
forgiveness."
"Pope Francis, aware of the
incredible life story of Louis Zamperini, graciously welcomed the opportunity
to view the film and is expected to attend the screening at the Casina Pio IV,
headquarters of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Pontifical Academy of
Social Sciences."
She hosted the high-profile
screening alongside Zamperini's son Luke. She also has brought her two eldest
daughters Zahara and Shiloh along with her for the trip to Rome.
