President Obama fears "Our levels of gun violence is off the charts..."

Trending on the foreign scene is the Tuesday’s shooting in Portland, Oregon. This was the second mass shooting in a week. President Obama fears “this is becoming the norm.”
"Police say one student was shot and killed, and the suspect is dead, following a shooting at Reynolds High School in Troutdale, Oregon, about 20 minutes outside Portland, Oregon. No other deaths were reported." 
If one of the most powerful men in the world feels powerless when it comes to gun legislation, then where do we go from here?
