June 30 is social media day

Let us all recognize the revolution of social media by celebrating the Annual World Social Media Day this June 30! All thanks to the social media, being connected to the world around us has been trouble-free and easy. If social media users would form another planet, who knows how many entities could pop up in a minute?

Mashable, a British-American social media blog founded by Pete Cashmore in 2005, launched World Social Media Day in 2010 to recognize social media's growth. In line with the celebration, Mashable organizes “Mashable Meetups” where social media users have the opportunity to get together and talk about social media and technology offline. According to their webpage, there is a total of 1946 mashable communities including New York, Sao Paulo, San Francisco, Atlanta, London, Barcelona, and many more.
