#ElectionPalaver: FG Might Move Presidential Elections By Six Weeks To Diffuse Tension In The Country

According to Daily Times the Federal Government is set to shift the upcoming presidential polls by six weeks! so as to “defuse the rising tension in the land”
The presidential and National Assembly elections are currently set to hold on February 14, while the governorship elections are set to hold on February 28. With the proposed postponement the elections could now hold at the end of March.
According to Daily Times, the feeling inside government circles is that there is a need to let the tension, which is nearing a boiling point in the country at the moment, come down before the elections hold. Their sources say, after the proposed six week postponement efforts will be made to calm the frayed nerves of the nation and encourage peace. Their fear now is that the presidential elections may lead to an implosion in the country.
The Presidency also believes that shifting the polls by about six weeks would allow more people to get their PVCs and be eligible to vote
