Condom Use In Accra, Ghana is On The Low (see why)
Dr. Samson Boadu Ofori, former Eastern
Regional Coordinator of the National AIDS Control Program has disclosed
that the use of condoms is very low in the Greater Accra Region.
He indicated that the decrease in the use of condoms in Accra is as a result of the lack of awareness on the dangers of unprotected sex. Dr. Boadu mentioned that just about 24 percent of sexually active Ghanaians use condoms.
He attributed the decline in condom use to the lack of trust when couples use condoms and appealed to the general public to reduce their risk of contracting Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s).
