ONIKOLA, Funmi Fiberisima's
first film as a producer, premiered at the Silver Bird Cinema at Ikeja City
mall over the weekend. The premiere featured a lot of guest stars and notable
figures in the industry. Onikola is a film that brings to light the harmful
side effects of female circumcision without flogging the viewers over the head
with the message. It is a very entertaining-romantic movie as well as complete
with all the elements that bring it home as a unique and entertaining movie. It
is the kind of movie that would make us proud in our heritage and provoke the
minds of Africans to think about the evil of female circumcision.
Written by Gbenga Adesanya,
Steve Anu Adesemoye, and Abosede Oshin the cast includes Funmi Fiberesima,
Fatai Rolling Dollar, Dejumo Lewis, Ara, Sunday Afolabi Ronke Ojo and Ibrahim
Chatta. There is a blend of up and coming actors from Next Movie Star reality
show like the talented Yinka Salau from the 2012 edition. Shot in Iseyin in Oyo
State, the movie weaves a blend of iconic and traditional scenes with the
compelling story of love without losing sight of the issues at stake.
Fiberisima adds that the movie will be formally released after the premiere.

shelves at the doors for the viewers to buy and take home it is clear that F
Fiberisima’s production partnering with Entertainment Fore Communication (Eforce
the new mega distribution channel for entertainment products in Nigeria) is the
beginning of many good things to come.
