Nigerian Flag Designer gets $29000 Annual Pay for life, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Joke Silva also Honoured

Yesterday (Sept. 29) a select number of Nigerians were awarded by president Goodluck Jonathan with National Honours Awards at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
The designer of the Nigerian Flag Taiwo Akinwuni was hounoured 54 years after he designed our flag! The 77 year old will also receive a lifetime salary (salary equivalent to a Special Adviser to the Presidency), so a healthy sum…54 years too late but at least he was honoured before passed away.
Also honored were Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Joke Silva, Blessing Okaghigbe and over 300 others. Joke Silva attended the special event with her hubby Olu Jacobs and their son. Omotola shared a picture of her National Award certificate on Twitter and used the opportunity to write,
Others that were honoured were Onuh Isaac Michael, the Chief Steward of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, who served nine Presidents and Heads of State, and many more.
