Colombia: 31 children die in bus fire

"A total of 31 children burned to death in Colombia after a bus they were travelling in caught fire in the north of the country.
Another 25 people, including one adult were injured and seriously burned in the accident near the town of Fundación last night.
At least 18 people managed to escape and were being treated at hospitals in the region...

The children were between the ages of 1 and 8 and were returning home after a religious service.
The driver escaped unharmed and was being questioned by police.
Coordinator of Magdalena province's emergency response, Major Eduardo Velez, said the fire started after the driver attempted to start the faulty bus by pouring fuel into the engine which he accessed through the floor of the cabin.
The bus was owned by a private transport company and was used during the week to take children to and from school.
